IV WORLD DAY FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THE ELDERLY

On July 28, World Day of Grandparents and Elders, why not seize the opportunity to highlight the richness of their existence… a wealth of life skills. A legacy to be passed on: through times of conversation, laughter, nature walks, meals, living together and doing together. A whole host of little pebbles on the path of life, so that together we can truly grasp the immensity of God's presence at the heart of our lives.

Read here a beautiful reflection by our pastoral agent, Nicole Myre.

A WORD FROM PASTORAL AGENT ANDRÉ INKEL ON HIS DEPARTURE

Summer is already well under way, with a whiff of holidays. In a few weeks' time, I'll be heading for another stage in my life. I will be leaving my duties as a pastoral agent for the Diocese of Gatineau on 12 July 2024. I'd like to thank Bishop Paul-André Durocher for welcoming me to the diocesan team. I have had the privilege of working in the diocesan pastoral team with generous and dedicated people to supporting parishes in the mission of the Church. I would like to thank each one of you with whom I have worked on diocesan projects, particularly the implementation of the synod on walking together in Church. I entrust myself to your prayers to support me in my journey as a missionary disciple following Jesus Christ.
Peace and joy in the Holy Spirit
André Inkel

4TH WORLD DAY FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THE ELDERLY

The IV World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly will be celebrated on Sunday July 28, 2024.  The theme chosen by the Holy Father – "Do not cast me off in my old age" (cf. Psalm 71:9) – is meant to call attention to the fact that, sadly, loneliness is the bitter lot in life of many elderly persons, so often the victims of the throwaway culture.

Supporting the elderly is another of the Novatio Foundation's priorities. Already, several projects funded by the Foundation have been aimed at breaking the isolation of seniors and fostering intergenerational and intercultural presence. This helps meet the needs of seniors and build a community where no one is forgotten. Through your donation to Novatio, other projects and initiatives to support seniors will be made possible. Thank you for your generosity.
