NEWS FROM THE DIOCESAN SERVICES - May 24, 2022

ANNUAL MEETING OF THE PRESBYTERIUM

On Wednesday, June 9, the priests of our diocese will participate in the annual assembly of the presbyterium. As every year, the meeting takes place around a theme that generally concerns the life and ministry of priests. Also on the occasion of this annual meeting, elections are held to renew the members of the Presbyteral Council. The Presbyteral Council is one of the great diocesan councils with which each diocesan bishop surrounds himself. The members are, partly elected by the priests and appointed by the bishop. They represent the presbyterium, that is to say all the priests of the diocese, because the bishop does not govern his diocese alone; that is why it is called Presbyteral Council. The bishop acts in agreement and in concert with the council of priests as he also does in concert with the Diocesan Pastoral Council and also with the Diocesan Council for Economic Affairs. Each member of the Presbyteral Council is invited to be attentive to the life and ministry of his fellow priests.
