NEWS FROM THE DIOCESAN SERVICES - March 15, 2022

NOMINATION

Mr. René Laprise, d.p., has been appointed, by Bishop Paul-André Durocher, as Executive Director of the Fondation Novatio. Since February 21, he has been working part-time as diocesan bursar as well part-time as director of Novatio.
The Archdiocese of Gatineau created the Fondation Novatio as result of the diocesan synodal journey. Many parishes in the diocese could no longer ensure the mission of the Church in their communities in an autonomous way because of the significant decrease in financial and human resources. Bishop Paul-André launched the Fondation Novatio, after consulting with diocesan women and men, in order to support the pastoral and missionary impetus of Christian communities, movements and the diocesan team. Novatio's main objective is to support the financing of activities and projects, to give back the pastoral and missionary breath, to develop a philanthropic culture in our local Church. As a tool to promote innovative pastoral and missionary services and projects, the Fondation Novatio promotes the evangelical values of partnership, social solidarity, respect and equity, care for creation, creativity, transparency and integrity.

The funds will allow for the enhancement of activities, projects and renewed services for the pastoral and missionary impulse emanating from the movements, parishes and the diocesan team.
