NEWS FROM THE DIOCESAN SERVICES - April 23, 2024

MESSAGE OF 1 MAY 2024: " "YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT."

On the occasion of May 1st, International Workers' Day and the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, the Quebec Assembly of Catholic Bishops invites Christian communities to pay attention to the current food crisis, to analyze the situation in the light of the Gospel, and to consider various courses of action to ensure that everyone has enough to eat.

In his video message for the annual campaign to support parishes (tithing), Bishop Paul-André Durocher reminds us how parishes are vibrant and dynamic, as well as places where the wealth, talents and gifts of all can be shared. "Following Jesus' example, everyone can make a difference in their community by sharing their time, talents and treasures."
Under the theme For my parish...with all my heart, Sharing our gifts, the campaign runs throughout the spring, with a reminder in the fall. This campaign, which has been supported by promotional tools since the 1990s, is of great importance in the donations that parishes receive to enable them to pursue their mission at the heart of the Outaouais population. To make a donation to any of the 57 parishes in the diocese, you can use the online donation platform on the Archdiocese of Gatineau website.
Joyfully, let's share our gifts. Thank you for your support!

As announced in the April 9 Newsletter, the Board of Directors of the Novatio Foundation has granted a total of $104,500 in projects for its second year of operation. The Foundation's Board is pleased to be associated with the realization of 12 projects in parishes and community organizations in the Archdiocese of Gatineau. Novatio management has begun a tour of the subsidized projects to hand over the funds granted. On March 27, the Grenier des Collines in Val-des-Monts welcomed the Foundation for a tour of their services and projects. Novatio's director was accompanied by Monique Washnuk, philanthropic development advisor, and Father Christian Rakotondrazafy, parish priest of St-Pierre-de-Wakefield, whose church is located next door to the organization.
