DIOCESAN PATRONAL FEAST, TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2022

On the occasion of the diocesan patronal feast day on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Bishop Paul-André Durocher invites the diocesan faithful to a Eucharistic celebration at 7:00 p.m. in the church of Saint-François-de-Sales, 799 Rue Jacques-Cartier, Gatineau.
This celebration of the patronal feast, which is the first after the two years of the pandemic, is in keeping with the collective desire, expressed during the synodal process, to give ourselves favourable opportunities to celebrate and walk together in the following of Christ, as a diocesan Church.
The diocesan patronal feast was set for 11 October because the Second Vatican Council was opened on 11 October 1962. To celebrate Mary, Mother of the Church and patroness of our diocese, on this date is to remember that our diocese was created during the Council and that it was marked from its birth by the breath of Vatican II. Who better than Mary, the first disciple of Jesus, to teach us to walk with him and to listen to him?
 Schedule for the day
3.30 pm: in the basement of the church of Saint-François-de-Sales: a resource session on the theme of pastoral leadership (one of the priority themes of the synodal process) followed by a supper. For priests, deacons and pastoral agents.
7:00 p.m.: Eucharistic celebration for the diocesan men and women of Gatineau in the church of Saint-François de Sales. All are warmly invited.

ANNUAL COLLECTION FOR THE NEEDS OF THE CHURCH IN CANADA

September 24 and 25 is the collection for the needs of the Church in Canada. This collection helps the Archdiocese make its annual contribution to the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) and the Assemblée des évêques catholiques du Québec (AECQ). The funds help the CCCB and the AECQ with their secretariats and the initiatives of the bishops at the provincial and national levels.

Thank you for your donation!
