The diocesan team wishes you a wonderful summer.

MANY THANKS TO FATHER GOSSELIN FOR HIS 22 YEARS OF SERVICE IN OUR DIOCESE

At the beginning of July, Father Albert Gosselin, Marist, had to leave our diocese because of health problems related to his advanced age. He was still pastor of the parishes of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde of Val-des-Bois and Notre-Dame-de-la-Salette. He had been pastor of Notre-Dame-des-neiges of Masson before its closure. He also supported the parishes of St-Grégoire-de-Nazianze and St-Luc de Buckingham as parochial vicar. He ministered in the Lièvre valley for 22 years. What a debt of gratitude we owe him for those years of faithful and generous service! He now lives in a Marist residence in Château-Richer, near Quebec City, where he receives the care and support he needs. We assure him of our prayers and our friendship as we remember the many years of joy we had in his company. May the Lord accompany him and fill him with his blessings!

INVITATION TO THE ARCHBISHOP OF GATINEAU'S GOLF OMNIUM ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2022, AT 12:00 NOON

Once again, this year, we are offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the charities supported by the Archbishop of Gatineau. These non-profit organizations are an asset for our communities. Their work is essential to the well-being of our neighbors in need. Since its foundation, the Archdiocese of Gatineau has recognized the social impact of these organizations and supports their mission throughout our region. For the eighth consecutive year, all the funds raised by the Archbishop's Golf Omnium will be distributed in bursaries to non profit organizations that are seeking financial assistance from the Archdiocese of Gatineau.

Register here.

Pope Francis will make a pastoral visit to Canada from July 24 to 29, 2022. The Pope's visit will provide a unique opportunity for him, once again, to listen and dialogue with Indigenous Peoples, to express his heartfelt closeness and to address the impact of colonization and the participation of the Catholic Church in the operation of residential schools throughout Canada. The papal visit will also provide an opportunity for the shepherd of the world's 1.2 billion Catholics to connect with the Catholic community in Canada.

The visit, drawing on the theme of "Walking Together", will include a combination of public and private events, with an emphasis on Indigenous participation throughout the visit. Please click here for the latest ticket/access information updated on www.papalvisit.ca

NEWS FROM THE PARISHES AND MOVEMENTS

RECOGNITION DISCOUNT FOR "FAITH WORKERS"

Faith workers (employees of the Diocesan Center, parish employees, members of Fabrique Councils, members of liturgy committees, members of pastoral committees, members of choirs, members of diocesan committees, members of the Knights of Columbus, Daughters of Isabella, etc.) often have little recognition for all the time and effort they offer to the Church.

Les Jardins du Souvenir, owned by the Archbishop of Gatineau, would like to thank you for your commitment and offer you a 15% discount on all our funeral services as a token of our appreciation. Plan your farewells with serenity.
