LAUNCH OF THE DIOCESAN PASTORAL YEAR, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 AT 1:00 P.M. IN THE BASEMENT OF ST-ALOYSIUS CHURCH
The Archdiocese of Gatineau invites all pastoral workers to the launch of the 2022-2023 pastoral year. This meeting is for priests, permanent deacons and their spouses, religious men and women, pastoral workers, as well as people committed to their faith in their community. We ask priests to identify two or three people involved in your parishes in addition to the delegates to accompany you. The launch of the pastoral year calls us to roll up our sleeves. It directs us towards concrete actions to continue to realise the wishes for conversion expressed during the synodal consultations, both in terms of welcome, listening and formation needs. To help us reflect on the theme of welcome, Father Yves Guérette of the Diocese of Quebec, professor at the Faculty of Theology and Religious Sciences of Laval University, will be the guest speaker.
Date: Friday, September 16 at 1:00 pm
Location: basement of St-Aloysius Church, 300 Rue Abbé Murray, Gatineau
GIVE US SOME NEWS!
In the wake of the synodal process experienced together, we have been challenged to conversions (changes of direction) to be ever more able to continue the mission entrusted by the Lord.
We invite you to send us your success that you are proud of and share it for the benefit of other parishes throughout the diocese. This could greatly enhance the sense of belonging to the great community of communities that is our archdiocese, especially as new parishes have been added since the beginning of the summer of 2022. Having news of your area, your parish, what you are proud of could fuel our reasons for thanksgiving and for feeling that the Church here is more alive than we might think. We could learn some from you in our desire to walk together.

It is an occasion to express our concern for the many vulnerable people on the move, to pray for them as they face many challenges, and to increase awareness about the opportunities that migration offers. Here are the two summary reports (ours and the one of the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops (AQCB) ) of the synodal process that took place among us and throughout the province of Quebec. These documents are now available on the diocesan website.
