INFO SYNOD - Site Web

SOME NEWS FROM THE SYNOD AROUND THE WORLD

We can see that many Christians from all corners of the ecclesial horizon share the enthusiasm and the challenges we are facing in the preparatory phase of the synod. 2022 FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

In the next few days, parish councils will receive a brief survey to determine their needs for promotional material for the 2022 tithe campaign, which will take place after Easter in May. As in previous years, the diocese will support parishes by offering free promotional tools and an advertising campaign.

DIOCESAN CONTRIBUTION EXEMPTION DURING CHURCH CLOSURES

As was the case during the complete closure of the churches in the spring of 2020 and the winter of 2021, the Diocesan Economic Affairs Council (DEC) has decided to offer again a dispensation of 1/50 of the diocesan contribution for each Sunday of the closure of the churches since last December 31. With the reopening of the churches on 7 February, the dispensation will therefore be granted for 7 Sundays (including New Year's Day celebrations). Parishes will receive details of the amount of the dispensation granted to them with the communication of the invoice for the 1st quarter of 2022 for the diocesan contribution.

PARISH FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR 2021

Thank you to those parishes that have already sent in their financial statements for the year 2021 as required by the Fabrique Act. Parishes are invited to send in their documents by the end of February. This document will be of great importance in assessing the full extent of the impact of the Covid-19 health crisis on the finances of parishes and the diocese. The form for the 2021 financial statement submission is available in Word, PDF and Excel formats on the our website, Extranet section
