NEWS FROM THE DIOCESAN SERVICES - November 26, 2024

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops presents Journey through Advent with the Most Rev. Frank Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto. Join us as we reflect on the Scriptures for the Sundays of Advent 2024.
As we prepare for the Nativity of Our Lord, it is hoped that this year's Journey through Advent videos will be a source of spiritual comfort, peace, and meaningful preparation for all who watch them.
The third brunch at St Joseph's Cathedral on 7 December 2024. As in previous years, the profits generated will be donated by the Novatio Foundation to community organisations and parishes. We warmly invite you to make this event even more special with your presence.

DIOCESAN INVITATION: PREPARATION EVENING FOR THE JUBILEE YEAR 2025 AND THE START OF ADVENT
Dear diocesan brothers and sisters of Gatineau,
You are cordially invited to a spiritual evening as part of the preparation for the Jubilee Year 2025, initiated by Pope Francis, on the theme "Pilgrims of Hope." In order to prepare ourselves to fully and joyfully experience this Holy Year of 2025, and to better enter into the Advent season that will lead us to the celebration of Christmas, our diocese is organizing a spiritual evening (in French) to which you are invited, whether alone, with family, or with friends, on Wednesday, December 4 at 7:00 PM, on Zoom.

Meeting ID: 820 0776 5883
Code: 594534
The evening will be divided into two parts:
First part:
Bishop Pierre-Olivier Tremblay, originally from our diocese and current bishop of the Diocese of Hearst-Moosonee, will speak to us about the origin of the Jubilee Year in the Bible and the history of the Church. He will also explain the meaning of the logo for the Jubilee Year 2025.
Second part:
Sister Catherine Aubin, a Dominican nun who has taught in several universities in Rome, is continuing her mission here in Quebec. She will help us deepen our understanding of the theme of the Jubilee Year: "Pilgrims of Hope." In a tired, increasingly uncertain world marked by wars and conflicts, how do we nurture hope? What is true hope?
The evening will conclude with a word from our bishop.
Everyone is welcome!
TRAINING FOR EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF COMMUNION AND ALL THOSE BRINGING COMMUNION TO THE SICK
The diocese is organizing two training sessions for all communion ministers of the archdiocese, especially those bringing communion to the sick in health centers or at home, including family members. Anyone interested is also welcome.
