The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops presents Journey through Advent with the Most Rev. Frank Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto. Join us as we reflect on the Scriptures for the Sundays of Advent 2024.
As we prepare for the Nativity of Our Lord, it is hoped that this year's Journey through Advent videos will be a source of spiritual comfort, peace, and meaningful preparation for all who watch them.
The Episcopal Commission for Evangelization and Catechesis of the English Sector of Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) releases Called to Witness and Proclaim: A Pastoral Letter on Evangelization and Catechesis in the Family. This resource is the result of a priority that was assigned to the Commission by the Bishops of the English Sector at their annual meeting in September 2023.
Framed around the story of Jesus healing the daughter of Jairus, as related in the Gospel of Mark (5:21-43), the pastoral letter is divided into three sections: catechesis in the family, catechesis with the family, and catechesis of the family.

ARCHBISHOP'S BRUNCH: A GREAT SUCCESS AT SAINT-JOSEPH'S CATHEDRAL
The second round of the Archbishop's brunches, in partnership with the diocese and the Novatio Foundation, continued on December 7 for the West Pastoral Zone, at the Parish Hall of St. Joseph cathedral.
Thanks to the participation of many people and the collective efforts of organizers and volunteers, the brunch raised $10 500, which was redistributed to three parishes and three organizations in the pastoral zone of the Hull and Aylmer sectors. These were Notre-Dame de l'Eau Vive parish (for the Oasis des tout-petits project), St. Joseph's Cathedral as host parish for the brunch, and St. Mark's parish for St. Vincent de Paul and the Knights of Columbus, as well as the Diocesan Committee of Renouveau charismatique. Community organizations included BASE (Banque alimentaire Services Entraide) and the Fonds populaire de solidarité de l'Outaouais. The host parish committee was supervised by Fabrique Chair Andrée Lachaîne and a team of volunteers.
There's one brunch left on this second tour, for the Centre pastoral zone, on January 26 at 11 a.m. (Ste-Trinité church). Details on how to participate in this brunch can be found on the archidiocese website.
The brunches also provide an opportunity to distribute the pamphlet for the Foundation's annual fundraising campaign, which carries the theme "For the Future of Our Communities." Ways to Give.
