TWO NEW CANDIDATES FOR THE PERMANENT DIACONATE

On October 27 and November 3, Archbishop Paul-André Durocher presided over the rites of admission to the diaconate of Mr. Chrislain Eric Kenfack at St. Mark's parish and Mr. Desmond Kamara at St. Aloysius parish. This is the first official step for Chrislain and Desmond as they become candidates for the diaconate and continue their training. They join two other candidates who underwent their rites of admission last April.

The third brunch at St Joseph's Cathedral on 7 December 2024. As in previous years, the profits generated will be donated by the Novatio Foundation to community organisations and parishes. We warmly invite you to make this event even more special with your presence.

ARCHBISHOP'S BRUNCH: A GREAT SUCCESS IN GRACEFIELD

The second round of the Archbishop's brunches, in partnership with the diocese and the Novatio Foundation, continued on November 9th for the Northern pastoral zone at the Gracefield Community Centre. Thanks to the participation of many people and the collective efforts of the organizers and volunteers, this brunch raised $7,150, which was distributed to four parishes and two organizations in the pastoral zone.

The recipients included the following parishes: L'Assomption-de-Marie (for the Pain Quotidien service), the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Indigenous Mission in Kitigan Zibi (for a project to bring together members of the mission and non-Indigenous people), Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Venosta (for community projects), Sainte-Marie-de-l'Incarnation Parish (for four projects: the Friends of Pointe-Comfort Committee, the Solidarité Jeunesse humanitarian project, the committee for the conservation of liturgical clothing and materials, and the oasis for children at the Gracefield church), as well as the following organizations: Au goût du Jour in the Gatineau Valley and La Maison des Collines in Wakefield. The organizing committee at the host parish, Sainte-Marie-de-l'Incarnation, was overseen by Father Mario Thibault, along with a team of members from various parish communities.
Two more brunches will take place in other pastoral zones of the diocese: on December 7th (at St. Joseph Cathedral) and on January 26th (at the Ste-Trinité parish). Details on how to participate in these brunches can be found on the archdiocese's website.
The brunches also provide an opportunity to distribute the pamphlet for the Foundation's annual fundraising campaign, which carries the theme "For the Future of Our Communities." Ways to Give.
