INFO SYNOD - Site Web

The meetings of small dialogue groups are going well according to the reports that have been sent to the diocese to date. We have received more than 20 reports. The purpose of this dialogue exercise is to take the pulse of the quality of synodality in our communities. How do we listen to each other? How do we walk together? What will emerge from these meetings will guide us in the great missionary project of Jesus for our time. Pope Francis has placed at the center of the next Synod of Bishops the concern to reach the peripheries, that is, those who have drifted away from the Church or who do not yet know Christ. If these people are on the periphery for us, we are also on the periphery for them. As communities of missionary disciples of Jesus, here we are in a favourable exercise to listen to ourselves and to the Holy Spirit. It is he who urges us to proclaim the Gospel and also to receive it from others: evangelization goes both ways and keeps us humble and joyful.

For all questions you can reach André Inkel by email inkela@diocesegatineau.org or by phone at 819.771.8391, ext. 300.

DIOCESAN CONTRIBUTION EXEMPTION DURING CHURCH CLOSURES

As was the case during the complete closure of the churches in the spring of 2020 and the winter of 2021, the Diocesan Council for Economic Affairs (DCEA) has decided to again offer a dispensation of 1/50 of the diocesan contribution for each Sunday of the closure of the churches since last December 31. With the reopening of the churches as of February 7, as announced by the government, the dispensation will be granted for 7 Sundays (including for New Year's Day celebrations). Parishes will receive details on the amount of the dispensation that will be granted to them with the communication of the 1st quarter billing of 2022 for the diocesan contribution.
