WORLD DAY OF GRANDPARENTS AND ELDERS, JULY 23

On Thursday June 15, the Holy See released Pope Francis' message for the III World Day of Grandparents and Elders. This year, the day will take place on Sunday, July 23, 2023, with the theme "His mercy is from age to age" (Luke 1:50). This theme is closely linked to World Youth Day, which takes place from August 2 to 6 in Lisbon, Portugal. This grandparents' day is an opportunity to reflect with and for seniors.

In the next issue of the Newsletter, we'll come back to you with some details and concrete proposals for celebration and commitment, to be lived out in our Christian communities, as a family or individually.

The CCCB Office for Evangelization and Catechesis has developed ready-to-use social media assets on the theme of evangelization for free use by archdioceses, dioceses, eparchies, ordinariates, parishes, religious orders, and educational and other Catholic institutions. Please access these social media assets on the CCCB website.

A WORD OF THANKS FROM Ms. LÉA NORMANDEAU

Dear colleagues, parish secretaries, priests, deacons, and others,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for coming to the party organized by my colleagues to celebrate my retirement on Thursday June 15. Receiving your messages, gifts and cards warmed my heart.
It was a privilege to meet and collaborate with you. I also like to thank you all for the trust and respect you have had in me for the past 17 years.
I was delighted to work and grow professionally with the diocesan team; it has been a rich learning experience.
This period has been mark by wonderful encounters, chats and interesting projects that will remain fond memories.
It is with a heavy heart that I must now leave the people with whom I have forged sincere friendships: my second family. I therefore officially leave my duties on August 11.

I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again. I wish you good continued in the excellent work you do for the Church of Gatineau.

Thank you,   Léa Normandeau
